Upload Document

Click to browse or drag & drop a PDF here.

How this works: Text is extracted securely in your browser and sent to the Gemini AI API for interaction. Image-only (scanned) PDFs without text layers cannot be read.

How to chat with your PDF document

Reading long reports, research papers, or heavy manuals takes time. Our AI PDF reader helps you understand any document faster by letting you ask direct questions. You get immediate answers based strictly on the text inside your file.

To get started, simply drag and drop your file into the upload area. The tool will scan the document and extract the text securely inside your browser. Once the text is ready, the chat interface will appear automatically. You can type commands like "Summarize the main points" or "What does this file say about new regulations?" The AI will read the extracted text and give you a clear and concise answer.

Built for privacy and security

Most AI PDF tools require you to upload your private files to a third party cloud server. We built our tool differently to protect your privacy. We process the initial text extraction entirely on your local device. Only the raw text needed to answer your questions is sent to the AI service. This ensures your original file structure, metadata, and the document file itself never sit on a vulnerable server.

Limitations with scanned images

Please note that this tool relies on actual text layers to read your file. If you upload a scanned image or a PDF made entirely of pictures without Optical Character Recognition applied, the AI will not be able to read it. Ensure your document contains selectable text for the best results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about interacting with documents using AI.

Can the AI read scanned PDF files?
The tool requires documents with a readable text layer. If your PDF is just a scanned picture of a paper, you will need to run it through an OCR scanner first to convert the images into readable text before chatting with it.
Is my document uploaded to a public server?
Your actual PDF file is never uploaded. The text extraction happens locally in your browser. We then send the extracted text securely to the AI service to generate answers, but we do not store your files or your chat history.
How long of a document can I upload?
You can upload documents of any length. However, to keep the AI processing fast and prevent API limits, the tool currently reads the first 30,000 characters of the extracted text to form its answers.
Is it free to ask questions?
Yes. You can use the chat interface to ask as many questions as you need about your uploaded document completely free of charge.
